Here’s our Tete-a-Tete with her:
1) How did the idea for your business come about?
SW: Always a makeup lover from my 1st Job at Emirates Airlines, I had good taste in makeup and my husband noticed that at the time of our wedding and encouraged me to take it up full time and then I got asked to share my knowledge which led to starting the makeup academy.
2) What was your key driving force to become an entrepreneur?
SW: I have always been enterprising in whatever I did and always wanted to go above and beyond in whatever I do and being an entrepreneur gives you that liberty and that drove to move out of the job and do what I loved doing, full time.
3) How do you market your business, and which tactics have been most successful?
SW: I started out with Facebook and kept posting everything there. People started noticing my work and this visibility coupled with a strong word of mouth referral gave us a steady platform. The world then transitioned to Instagram and that has been our way forward.
4) What piece of advice would you give to women who would start a business of their own?
SW: Hard work, Consistency and Patience are the key. Focus on your vision and on how you want your business to grow and not on what others are doing. Keep your goals in mind and maintain the ethics and you will see the results which will be sustainable.
5) What entrepreneurial tricks have you discovered to keep you focused and productive in your day-to-day busy schedule?
SW: Never loosing sight of the goal and keeping your fundamentals in place. Treating every client as equal. Writing down the agreements so there is no confusion later. Maintaining a calendar to know how the way forward.
Thank you for inspiring so many of us and wishing you all the very best in all your future endeavors!
