A picture is worth a 1000 words.
And if you are planning to build your personal brand online then it is even more essential to put your face to all your interactions online. Hiring a professional photographer is definitely a good idea as it will be a good investment in the long run.
Find a photographer you like. The most important thing is to be relaxed and happy while you’re doing it. Most people dislike posing for photos like me, so you’ll need moral and practical support while you do it. So, I was lucky to be part of my friend Namrata Rupani’s campaign. She is the Director/ Founder of Capture Life.
And she made sure to not only make this whole process comfortable for me but captured me just the way I would like to project my image online to create my personal brand.
Try to relax during the photo shoot so that the images feel more human.
How to use your picture:
* On your blog’s about page and author information
* Social networking sites like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter LinkedIn etc.
* On all your online and print promotional activities
Sharing online helps you to craft an online persona that reflects your personal values and professional skills. Even if you only use social media occasionally, the content you create, is part of your public narrative. We need to understand that how you conduct yourself online is now just as important as your behavior offline.
Creating engaging content means to take a fresh approach to the types of updates you share with your network. You can talk about your own achievements occasionally or add engaging tidbits about your personal life (topics such as travel, hobbies, etc.are suitable) and can go up on your “Stories” as even though they are ephemeral ( last upto 14 hours only) but are highly engaging. Social media is first and foremost about individuals – sharing some of this information provides your audience with a glimpse of who you really are and what you’re about – just ensure you don’t overshare or make it all about you.
